So I know what your thinking if you actually read the info I took from the website...$150 a jar and snail serum?! I know, I know....but stay with me here, this stuff is pretty awesome!

I had first heard about snail serum in skincare products from Korean brands. When it comes to asian skincare brands, I think they are quite cutting edge and I hate that it's quite expensive for us to purchase the products here in the U.S. Either that or we have to wait for the U.S. to come out with some kind of copy cat version (hello, BB Creams). Anyways, I was excited to see that MTTO had a product that featured this ingredient.
For more info on snail serum benefits, definitely google it but basically snails secrete this serum that allows them to recover from the harsh effects of traveling over Earth's elements and constantly being exposed to the sun. Apparently snails have a very similar texture to human skin so we reap the benefits of this serum as well, and it doesn't cause harm to the snails to extract the serum.

But enough about all the "factual" mumbo jumbo, here's my little synopsis of my experience with the product:

Smell: Kinda smells like Elmer's Glue...not the best smell but it didn't bother me either. Once it was on my face, the smell went way.

Texture: Kinda like Elmer's Glue...wait is their Elmer's Glue in this?! I kid, I kid, but it did have that thick, tacky texture like glue which is unlike any other skincare product I have used before. Once applied, it absorbs quickly and the tacky feeling goes away.

Uses: Can be used day and night on the entire face (including the eye area) and neck.

The directions say you can use this in conjunction with your facial serums and moisturizers but I found that I could use this right after toning my skin and skip the moisturizer. I have combo/oily skin so on the days where my skin feels more oily, I like to use just this.

Once I put this stuff on, I do feel my skin firm up but not in a tightening way that an astringent would feel. Everything just firms up but your skin is still soft to the touch. A little goes a long way and this also makes a great face primer because it creates that smooth, firming affect. I also use this in lieu of eye cream sometimes because it does a great job at reducing fine lines in that area. I don't have major wrinkles just yet (knock on wood), so I can't attest to how well it works on that, but for the little lines I can see under my eyes, this has done a great job at reducing those.

I have been using this stuff for over a month now and I do see an overall improvement in my skin; especially the texture of my skin, oh man, so soft!  I have had less breakouts as well but I do use a whole slew of other products so I can't say it's just from using this. I would recommend this for anyone at any age because although it's marketed as anti-aging, I feel that the ingredients in this product would benefit anyone and prevention is key!

Is it worth it?
So again, the size you receive is for 3 months, so essentially it is $50 per month. However if you use this twice a day and use it on your neck and décolletage, I think it would last about 2 months. That is still on the expensive side and I know there are a million other cheaper products out on the market for less so it really depends on your skin needs. If you are seeing signs of aging, I think this is worth trying because you can also use it as an eye cream and primer which makes it multi-purpose. To me, I think it's also nice that not only is it an effective product but it also has an ingredient list that leaves out the not so good stuff. But $150 is still a lot of money and for a new product that you just want to try, that's a lot to dish out! So where can you get this for about $30....yes, $30.... drum roll please...wait for it.....Living Social and Groupon! For the past 2-3 months, this has been featured on both sites at one time or another. I highly recommend keeping your eyes peeled for this as I'm sure the deal will most likely pop up again and you should definitely take advantage of it!
